I had so much fun with this last time I thought I’d have another go. Hope you enjoy them.
Running is big on my daily once agenda again as I seek to segue seamlessly from pleurisy recovery into running a marathon in less than ten weeks. I’m also a confused metric-imperialist. Combine those thoughts and you get my first poem.
Eight kilometres
Sounds far in the morning dark
Let’s call it five miles
My second poem is all about the connective power of like minds and is my favourite of those I’ve written so far.
Her words speed my heart
Lips unknown to mine and yet
We are intimate
It’s always good to end with a song. And when that’s not possible at least end with a poem on that subject.
Songs from history
Remind us of days that went
By so very fast
yes, the middle one is my favourite also. All good though.
