As befits a man of my advancing years, this will be a quickie.
My week is off to a flier, thanks mostly to the ever wondrous and wonderful people over at Literally Stories who have seen fit to publish another one of my new pieces.
For those of you who’ve read a lot of my stories and blog posts I’m sure you’ll agree that Car Crash Television is a real departure for me. I’ve tried really hard to step away from my usual comfort zone of using flowery prose to expand on weighty and topical themes and challenged myself to write a mostly dialogue-based piece focusing on a bloke moaning about what’s on the TV.
Another fractured evening. Broken down into the twenty six minutes that remain.
Fucking addiction. God knows why I need it.
I’ve been nominated for a second Sunshine Blogger Award.
Cue lots of choking noises from those who were already chuckling at cynical old me getting the word sunshine thrown in my direction the first time around.
Pipe down once more ye chucklers and titterers.
You’ll be pleased to know that the world hasn’t gone completely mad. My natural instinct remains to stick my head in the sand and ignore this kind of thing. I still don’t know why, it’s just how I am. Probably explains why I hate charades and dancing.

I can only begin to imagine just how hard those of you who have known me for many years are laughing at the idea of good old cynical me and the word sunshine in the same sentence.
Pipe down ye chucklers and titterers.
My natural instinct with anything of this nature is to stick my head in the sand or to politely decline. I don’t know why, it’s just how I am.
